. ok, so there we get to the part i'm not so enamored with. all of you know our esteemed jennifer, our senior project manager in the planning and development commission. she had abandoned us for the glory of retirement, and she had left us with an amazing legacy of worked in the 18 years she has been with the port. it is incredible what all the she has done for this city and the port in her time. she joined in december of 1992. looks like a few days before christmas. i still wonder who does that, but jennifer did, and she came in the real estate division where she spent approximately six years, and then, she moved over to the planning and development commission where she spent the remaining 12 years. i'm 18 years she has been here, she has been promoted six times, so that is a great batting average. jennifer, congratulations. jennifer, as you know, is responsible on the port side for the project at 1.5, 3, and 5, which is spectacular. simon, wherever you are, we're taking all the credit for that project, so congratulations, wherever you are. also for the exploratory project that is com
to introduce one of our shining stars at spring valley, our second great teacher, ms. jennifer man. jennifer has taught at spring valley 18 years. she doesn't look like she's taught there for 18 years but she's had. she started there. that was her first teaching assignment and stayed there sin. that speaks to i think the quality of teachers there at the school. when you first meet jennifer you would think that she's shy but within that quiet demeanor beats the heart of a passionate educator. her passion shines through when she teaches. she reaches out to all her students no matter what level they may be. she often goes the extra mile to help them by sacrificing her own time to tutor them after school. her passion radiates when she works with her leagues. she's always willing to help, either planning a lesson with a fellow teacher, coordinating schoolwide events or assisting the school secretary when she's busy with phone calls. jennifer is the type of person who will never refuse you if you ask her for help. and she helps you without ever asking for anything in return. her passion for teachi
to jennifer. jennifer is an accounting supervisor in our finance accounting division and has been with the agency for five years. she is being recognized today for her outstanding performance in completing the analysis of the m.t.a.'s 20 bank accounts with the bank of america. she was able to determine if banking services were needed in her review and the closeout of unnecessary accounts. she consolidated accounts resulting in the reduction of our bank fees. in addition, as part of the proposition 8 mandated chart of accounts and budget restructuring project, jennifer worked tirelessly in detailed analysis of several special revenue funds that were repeeled with many challenges, she was able to successfully complete this project timely and close out the fund balances of these accounts. our director of finance is here to present the award to jennifer. >> thank you, mr. ford. good afternoon, everybody. i'm honored to be here to present this award to jennifer. jennifer is a new mom. and so she's very busy with that effort. but she also was given a chance to move ton another departmen

to be seriously trimmed but -- back, because as jennifer has mentioned, when facing dolores park, there are steps leading in and out of dolores park, and it does present a safety hazard. so, basically, what i am saying is i would like you to seriously consider the request to remove these trees and put some trees that are more consistent with what is there unlike the city installed, given the fact that the owner is willing to absorb 100% of the cost of this. i do not think it is an unreasonable request. commissioner fung: do you know what kind of trees were installed by the city? >> uh, i'm not sure. they are like little maple trees. they installed them all of the way up church street. commissioner fung: what size are they? >> well, they are fairly small now, but i expect -- 8 feet, maybe 9 feet, 10 feet. these trees and we're talking about today or maybe 30 feet high. they have become a real problem, and not just from the words with the sidewalks buckling, but also the fact that it is creating a problem in terms of the foliage. commissioner hwang: in terms of the foliage, i asked the question of
